Live & TV Channels are capable of recording and saving live encoder broadcasts to be archived or rebroadcast.
Recordings are automatically made available on the Media Contents page after being saved and are stored in their original format. They will be automatically tagged with a label of “RECORDING” as well as a second label including the relative Channel’s name. Broadcasts for a duration longer than 4 hours will be segmented into multiple recordings.
Accessing a Recorded Video
Recordings can be downloaded or previewed from the Media Content’s interface.
It is possible to publish a recording to be accessible On Demand, included in a VOD Playlist, or scheduled to playback on a TV Channel.
How to record a broadcast
On the Channel Overview you will see the recording widget. This will show you the status of the recording as well as allow you to start and stop recording.
If you select Start Recording the channel will begin automatically recording all incoming live broadcasts.
Recording Status
NOT RECORDING
Stream Recording is disabled and will not capture the broadcast.
READY
Stream Recording is enabled, and waiting for an incoming live encoder to be connected. Recording will begin automatically once a live encoder is connected.
RECORDING
A live encoder is connected and the broadcast is currently being recorded.
