TV Channels are designed to operate like real-world digital tv channels that you would find on your actual television, providing features to upload and schedule media to playout at designated times as well as be interrupted by live streaming content sent by an encoder.
Create once-off or recurring events with our powerful Scheduling Calendar.
- Schedule Recurring Events with Playlists or Tagged Media
- Schedule Live Broadcasts
- Schedule Other Channels
- Loop Media or Play Only Once
- Drag and Drop Rescheduling
- Duplicate Event Playlists
Add Event
Click and drag or select the plus button to create a new scheduled event. You will then be greeted with the event management information for your new event. From here set the Title, Calendar Color, and recurrence details.
Loop will set the event to loop the scheduled content until the event ends. This allows you to keep content playing for the entirety of the event by looping content instead of ending the event.
Allow Overrun default to on and allows the event to continue playing the video that was last playing when the event ended. So, if a 20-minute video is started just before the event ends it will continue to play until the video ends. With Overrun disabled the video will stop playing immediately after the event ends, allowing you to schedule content right after to playout on time or cut out as soon as the broadcast ends.
Event Type
There are five types of events that can drastically change how you use the event.
Live Broadcast’s simply allocate a time in the schedule for a live encoder to connect to the TV Channel.
Playlist events allow you to select any of your uploaded content to playout in the order using our playlist builder.
You can schedule another cloud video channel to playout at the scheduled window with the Relay Another Channel option. This feature is currently in beta but allows for a powerful scheduling.
With the tagged media option you can use your tagged content to quickly add a large quantity of content to an event. This can playout in the order allowing you to set a number of each tag to playout or in a shuffle. You can read more about this feature TV scheduling by Tags
