Troubleshooting Facebook Stream Targets (NGINX-RTMP)

Troubleshooting steps for facebook stream target disconnect.

  1. Check abuse log to ensure no forced disconnection at /usr/local/mediacp/log/mediacp/abuse.log
  2. Check stream target log at /usr/local/mediacp/log/mediacp/software.log and can identify that the target name was detected as offline and restarted.
  3. If stream target detected as offline with nginx-rtmp it could mean the ffmpeg process has exited, likely due to an interruption in the stream or and error in the encoding/decoding of the broadcast.
  4. If the problem continues check with facebook support and ensure that your streaming account has not been banned or restricted. This can also be tested by configuring the stream target with a separate account.
