Maximize Device Compatibility for Audio Streaming

To ensure compatibility for audio streaming it is important to understand the limitations of certain devices, these can be especially important for mobile device compatibility. Apple for example does not support the OOG format which is where we most often see customers hit issues with compatibility. Our recommendation for these cases is to create a separate mountpoint for AAC by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the intended service
  2. Select Mount Points
  3. Click on "Create New Mountpoint" if this button is not available then the service has hit it's mountpoint limit. Increase the mountpoint limit or have the administrator do so
  4. Set the Mount Point URL to something useful such as /aac or /apple to indicate it's use
  5. If using AutoDJ enable "Enable AutoDJ on this mountpoint" if this option is not available, then the service has hit it's AutoDJ limit. Increase the AutoDJ limit or have the administrator do so
  6. If using AutoDJ set the "Format" to AAC+
  7. Select Save to create the new mountpoint and apply the configuration.

The new mountpoint will now be streaming in AAC if using AutoDJ, if using direct encoder connection there must be a second stream set to AAC in the encoder streaming to the new mountpoint.
