How to live stream with AutoDJ Fallback

Operating a live Icecast stream with an AutoDJ fallback is easy with the MediaCP.

Icecast Service Configuration

  1. Create an Icecast 2 or Icecast 2 KH Service using Ices 0.4 AutoDJ.
  2. Go to the Service Configuration page.
  3. On the "Plugin" tab:
make sure MountPoint Name is set to stream and set Backup Mount to /source
  4. On the "Source" tab
     Set Service Mountpoint to source
  5. Update Configuration & Restart Service

Configure AutoDJ

  1. Go to the Service Overview page.
  2. Click on AutoDJ.
  3. Upload music and configure your playlist.
  4. Start AutoDJ.

That is it, now you can open http://yourdomain:8000/stream.m3u8 and your AutoDJ service should play.
When you want to change to your Live Stream, simply start your live encoder and the stream should swap over.

Additional Notes:

  • Always set AutoDJ & Your Live Encoder to the same Bitrate, Channels & Format to avoid issues.
