While CentOS 7 end-of-life is not until 2024, it was first released in 2014 which makes the system over 9 years old.
While alone this might not seem much of a problem, we typically find that software vendors either stop testing their products with CentOS 7 (Liquidsoap for example) or discontinue support entirely (Flussonic). This causes a large stability problem, as a new update to one package may break compatibility with another resulting in services not working correctly or at all. The most common example of this is with Liquidsoap, which relies on frequent system library updates and does not perform any testing on CentOS 7.
When a compatibility issue arises, the MediaCP team will promptly look to deploy a solution, however in most cases this relies on cooperation with vendors which can sometimes be a lengthy process (as most vendors reply to us first with "you should upgrade to a newer operating system").
For the reason of stability, we highly recommend migrating to a newer operating system.
