Our PayPal Payment system links the Paypal account through to our billing system for automatic debiting on the due date. In this way it works similarly to a credit card being charged/debited, but using the PayPal balance or preferred payment method instead. It also supports payments from account balance and selecting account balance as the default method of payment. While using this method, duplicate subscriptions can't happen; so it will be the preferred method of payment when using PayPal.
Previously we had a PayPal Subscription payment method that ran into duplicate subscriptions causing double billing and other issues highlighted in the various KB Articles below. It is not possible to create duplicate subscriptions with the PayPal Payment as no subscription is created.
