Icecast Troubleshooting - Station stops and requires manual start

If you are seeing an Icecast or Shoutcast station that is turning itself off, the most common cause is bitrate abuse stopping the station. 

Check bitrate abuse logs

Bitrate abuse logs will show if the station is being stopped, and you can check them via SSH in the following location:

/usr/local/mediacp/log/mediacp/abuse.log

Enable Icecast Debugging

If the station is not being stopped by bitrate abuse, then increasing your Icecast log level to 4 - Debug, Info, Warn, Error messages and gathering the error log once the station is stopped again should provide valuable information. You can follow this guide to enable Icecast debugging:
